BRETFORTON Village School is one of two schools in Worcestershire that have been forced to close today on account of the freezing weather.

According to the Worcestershire County Council website the school’s boiler system has ‘failed’ and the classrooms are not warm enough for the children.

A spokesperson for the school which is part of the Bengeworth Multi Academy Trust, said: “Please accept our apologies for this. We are hoping to reopen on Wednesday, January 7.”

Tudor Grange Academy in Worcester is also closed today due to a lack of heating and hot water.
