RESIDENTS of Evesham are being invited to learn more about how the proposed local government reorganisation could affect them this week.
A public meeting at Evesham Town Hall on Thursday, January 8, at 7pm is aimed at helping people understand what reorganisation means at the town, county, and national levels.
Changes to the way councils are structured and governed are being discussed across the country, and the meeting will provide an opportunity to hear clear explanations and ask questions.
Organised by the mayor of Evesham, John Clatworthy, two guest speakers will share their expertise on the subject.

Chris Wayman, executive officer of the Worcestershire County Association of Local Councils, will outline the role of town and parish councils and how they may be affected.
He will be joined by Paul Middleborough, executive member for devolution at Wychavon District Council, who will explain the wider picture and what devolution could mean for the wider area.
The UK Government says local government reform is intended to simplify council structures, reduce duplication, and give more power to local areas.
Through devolution, decision-making and funding are meant to move closer to communities, with councils working at a more strategic level to support economic growth and improved public services.
Worcestershire County Council submitted its preferred option of a single unitary authority encompassing all six district councils to the Government in November 2025.
Wychavon District Council, along with Bromsgrove District, Malvern Hills District, Worcester City, and Redditch Borough Council, is strongly in favour of two new unitary councils created. One encompassing the north of the county and one for the south.
Councillor Clatworthy said the meeting is open to everyone and encouraged residents to attend to find out more and take part in the discussion.
