Sponsor a dog for the canine connoisseur in your life

DOGS Trust Evesham has come up with the pawfect gift for lovers of four-legged friends.

They say with around 1,500 dogs in a Dogs Trust rehoming centre at any one time, gifting someone a sponsor dog for just £1 per week can make a world of difference to a pooch waiting to be adopted.

Not only will the gifter be supporting the charity to care for thousands of dogs each year, but when an animal is sponsored the recipient will receive a sponsorship pack including a photo certificate of the chosen dog, photo postcards, a window sticker and fridge magnet.

They will also receive updates three times a year – at Christmas, on Valentine’s Day and during the summer.

Currently, Dogs Trust has 21 dogs available for sponsorship which includes Tobias at Dogs Trust Evesham.

The 10-year-old Labrador crossbreed and is an older fellow but according to the charity has a ton of energy.

He loves going for very long peaceful walks, playing with his carers and going for an adventure in the car.

His favourite things are antler chew toys, and loves to use his brain during his training sessions.

With his birthday coming up on January 1, Dogs Trust say sponsoring him would be a ‘wonderful way to show him some love’ as he heads into his 11th year.

Richard Dodd, manager at Dogs Trust Evesham said: “We adore Tobias and I am sure the dog lover in your life will too.

“By sponsoring a dog like Tobias, not only are you helping your chosen sponsor dog, but you are also helping us care for the hundreds of dogs being cared for within our 21 rehoming centres.

“Your support helps us create a happy place for every dog – helping to fund all aspects of running our centre, from heating the kennels, providing treats and enrichment toys, training and behaviour support and any veterinary care required for our dogs.”

Each year, Dogs Trust finds homes for thousands of dogs. Most find their forever home within around six weeks, but for those that need love and support for longer, Dogs Trust is committed to caring for them and providing a happy place for them to stay for however long it takes.
