A SPARKLING night of glitz and glamour to celebrate the district’s women in business has been heralded as a great success.
The event, Shine in Style – The Strength Behind the Sparkle, was held at the Regal Cinema, Evesham, on November 10 and featured a fashion show, cooking demos, and inspirational talks.
The event was the joint brainchild of Anna Wielgat, owner of Reid’s Boutique, a ladieswear shop on High Street, Evesham, and Bal Padda of Vicarage Nurseries, to spotlight the achievements of female-led businesses in the region.
The celebration comes at a time of rising success in women’s sport globally, including India’s recent Cricket World Cup win, the England Red Roses’ Rugby World Cup victory, and the Lionesses’ triumph in the European Women’s Championship.
“It was an absolute pleasure for Bal and me to organise and lead this beautiful event. A true celebration of feminine energy, confidence, and timeless style,” said Anna, who came to the UK from Poland in 2007 and has been running her ladieswear business for three years.
Mr Padda, who hosted the sold-out red-carpet premiere of ‘It’s a Punjabi Farm, Innit’ at the Regal Cinema earlier this year, and known for his own sparkling wardrobe.
“I want my daughters to have heroes and see that women are no longer being left behind but are leading success in both sports and business. We all need winning role models,” he added.
It is hoped the event will be repeated next year.
