THE SOUNDS of the 1980s will be ringing out from the Henrician this week with the Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society stage run of Our House.
The feel-good musical features the songs of Madness, bringing to life a funny and moving love story that explores right and wrong through two parallel stories.
Set in Camden Town, the heart-warming story follows London lad Joe Casey, who, on the night of his sixteenth birthday, takes the girl of his dreams out on their first date.
In an effort to impress her with bravado, he breaks into a building site overlooking his home on Casey Street to show Sarah the view over north London.
When the police arrive, Joe faces an agonising decision: whether to run or stay and face the consequences.

Here, the narrative splits in two and builds towards an explosive climax.
EODS’ chair Vicky Stanford-Edwards said: “Most people who have lived through the 1980s will have heard and enjoyed the music of Madness.
“To have their music converted into a piece of musical theatre has been inspirational and to have a production team and cast of the calibre we have is the icing on the cake.”
The show is directed by Alison Roberts, who added: “In my teens, I spent many an evening at the youth club disco, dancing around the Madness songs, pretending to play a saxophone and doing the ‘Madness Walk’.
“I hope you come and join EODS for an evening at The Henrician and join in with the singing and dancing at the end!”

The show runs from tonight (Tuesday, November 18) to Saturday, November 22 at 7.30pm at The Henrician, Evesham.
Visit henrician.org/events/our-house/ for tickets, which cost £18.
EODS welcomes new performers and stage crew to join the society. See eods.org.uk to get involved.
