NIGELS from across the land will be heading to Bretforton in September for the largest gathering of those with the aforementioned name.
Nigel Night, previously held in 2019 and 2022, is making a glorious return to the Fleece Inn for the free event on September 20 with all attendees getting a Nigel badge and free pint on proof of their name.
As well as bonding with other Nigels, entertainment will take the form of a quiz, Nigel Morris dancing and live music from some Nigels and their friends.
Fleece landlord Nigel Smith: “With Nigel’s becoming extinct – there were no babies named Nigel in recent National Statistics reports, we felt we ought to have a gathering of fellow Nigels before it’s too late.
“The previous events were so joyous we wanted to do it again.”
A total of 434 Nigel’s attended the first event, setting a world record with many more visiting since and signing the ‘book of Nigel’ kept behind the bar.
The Fleece is keen to point out that non-Nigel’s and Nigella’s are also welcome and donations to the British Heart Foundation are being encouraged.
Any talented Nigels are asked to make themselves known to the licensee.
