A MAN had died after being hit by a train near Pershore.
Emergency services were called around 2.30pm on Sunday (August 24) following reports of an incident on the railway line near Harpley Road, Defford.
An Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene along with an ambulance, two paramedic officers and the police.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “On arrival we discovered one patient, who it sadly quickly became apparent could not be saved and they were confirmed dead at the scene.”
A spokesperson from British Transport Police said officers were called to Defford station at around 2.30pm on Sunday, August 24 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner,” they said.
