EVESHAM United’s lead performance analyst and head of sports science, Lewis O’Loughlin, has made his mark on the international stage.

The Evesham local served as St Lucia’s lead performance analyst during the final matches of the country’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

St Lucia finished third in a five team group to just miss out on a place in third round qualifying for the CONCACAF region.

O’Loughlin also works for League Two side Cheltenham Town.

And Robins manager Michael Flynn recommended O’Loughlin to Nick Morgan, a former Westfields manager, who was already involved with the Saint Lucia national team.

He subsequently earned a call-up to the international stage working under former Premier League striker and St Lucia boss Stern John.

And O’Loughlin’s expertise helped St Lucia secure a 2-1 victory against Barbados following a 4-0 defeat against group winners Curacao.

He has a master’s degree in applied performance analysis in sport.

O’Loughlin said: “Stern’s Premier League experience was invaluable.

“He made me feel part of the team and showed me what football means to Saint Lucia.”

O’Loughlin also played his part in Evesham’s promotion-winning campaign last season.

And he hopes to help both Evesham and Cheltenham to successful campaigns in 2025/26.

O’Loughin added: “I’m thankful to Evesham United and Cheltenham Town for their support and allowing me to take up the role.

“I’ve learned a lot and want to help both clubs do well in the upcoming season.”
