AN AUCTION house in the Vale hosted the BBC Antiques Road Trip recently.

Littleton Auctions, based in Middle Littleton, welcomed a BBC crew who filmed several items under the hammer provided by antiques experts Mark Hill, James Braxton, Izzie Balmer, and Margie Cooper.

Evesham’s Mayor, Councillor John Clatworthy, joined to watch the furious bidding during the mammoth 700-lot sale that took place on May 31.

Coun Clatworthy, who used to live in North Littleton told the Observer he had been invited to observe the filming together with Mayoress Marion Griffiths after he had previously contributed items for sale following a clearout.

“Watching the filming – take, retake, take, retake, we quickly realised how professional the camera crew are, and how responsive the celebrities are.

“The auctioneers announced at the 10am start that it would be ‘a long day’ with hundreds of lots. How incredible for a village auction house. It was wonderful experience that I am sure will stay in the memory for a very long time,” he said.
