A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an assault in Wickhamford on Sunday (May 11).
At around 9.35pm an 88-year-old man was assaulted on Murcot Turn in Broadway. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
A second man, aged 40, has been arrested in Evesham this afternoon on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Detective Inspector Mark Davidson, said: “The news of this incident has understandably caused concern locally and I’d like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation over the last couple of days while we’ve been carrying out our enquiries.
“While our investigation is at an early stage, I can confirm that we’re not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and there’s no threat to the wider community.”
