The Big Worcestershire Garage Sale to raise cash for St Richard's Hospice

THE BIG Worcestershire Garage Sale is hoping to raise £25,000 for St Richard’s Hospice.

The popular event is bringing communities together from across the county in what will be the third consecutive year for a day of bargain hunting, treasure finding and charitable giving – all from the comfort of residents’ own driveways.

This year’s event is taking place on Saturday June 14 and will see hundreds of householders hosting garage sales at their homes on the same day.

Previous years have seen them offering everything from antiques and collectibles to clothing, toys homeware and other unwanted goodies.

Matt Nicol, managing director of organisers Nicol and Co, explained that this year’s event is supporting St Richard’s Hospice, with everyone taking part having the option to donate a portion of their sales or make a direct contribution to the Worcester-based charity.

As an added bonus, any quality unsold items can be dropped off at the end of the day at designated collection points to be distributed to St Richard’s Hospice charity shops across Worcestershire by Warren’s Removals who have donated their vans to help.

Mr Nicol said: “The Big Worcestershire Garage Sale is all about community spirit.

“Whether you’re looking to declutter, discover hidden gems, or simply enjoy a day out in the neighbourhood, this event is the perfect way to get involved.

“It’s a fun and sustainable way to make space in your homes, meet neighbours and find amazing bargains – all while supporting a fantastic cause.

“Our charitable target this year is to raise £25,000 towards the £12 million St Richard’s Hospice needs to raise every year to provide free care.

“We can’t wait to see Worcestershire buzzing again for the third year running with garage sales on the day.”

Ria Simons, community fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, added: “We are thrilled to be a part of this brilliant event, which not only brings local communities together but also supports our vital care services.

“Every donation, big or small, helps us continue providing compassionate care for patients and their loved ones across Worcestershire.”
