PERSHORE Rugby Club’s men’s and women’s teams both triumphed on the road in their respective matches.

Pershore Phoenix Women beat Cheltenham Civil Service 31-28 in a close game while the men claimed a 27-21 victory against Dudley Kingswinford.

Phoenix captain Nicola Hope won her 25th cap for Pershire and marked the occasion with two tries to rally her side to victory.

The men produced one of their best performances of the season as Damo May and Cameron Wood crossed for early tries.

And Josh Hardiman crashed over for Pershore’s third try while Wood grabbed his second of the game after the break.

Dudley staged a comeback courtesy of three converted tries before Ben Crouch made a try-saving tackle and Todd Charlton dotted down for Pershore to seal the points.

Pershore Phoenix Women are next in action at home on Sunday, March 23 while the men take on Worcester 2nds at home on Saturday, March 22.
