LOVE was in the air at Lifford Hall in Broadway last Friday for the Freedom Day Centre community disco.
Love of friendship, love of community and a love of diversity and inclusion were demonstrated in ample abundance as guests of all ages and abilities enjoyed fun, food and karaoke.
The appropriately-themed Valentine’s event was attended by more than 80 people from across the Vale who were serenaded by singer Vicky P before taking to the dance floor for a good old boogie on down.

It was also an opportunity to celebrate its founder Tracey Hemming who found out in January that she had been awarded a BEM (British Empire Medal) for her tireless work for the learning disability community.
She said: “It was a wonderful occasion. We held the event as one of our community days which we like to open to the public as it’s important that they get to know our service users and realise they are no different to themselves.
“It’s all about breaking down barriers and making people see that. They shouldn’t need to feel scared or judgemental of differences.”
“We danced the day away and had a wonderful time all together. We are very lucky to be well supported.”
The popular Freedom Day Centre based in South Littleton offers a range of educational, therapeutic and social opportunities for people with additional needs aged 16 and over.
The non-profit organisation currently supports 80 to 90 individuals aged between 19 and 72 from across the district and further afield to Stratford and Redditch.
