Number 8 has announced its spring season line-up and opened online booking.
For all audiences, there promises to be an exciting programme of live events, event cinema, screenings, workshops and exhibitions to look forward to over the next few months.
There’s live music spanning country, rock ‘n’ roll, and folk with A Country Music Songbook, One Night in Dublin, Lipstick on Your Collar, Fleetwood Machine, and monthly folk sessions in The Foyer.
NHS anaesthetist, comedian and author Ed Patrick provides a prescription for laughter with his show Catch Your Breath. Theatre goers can witness passion and treachery in the one-woman play Prostitutes Marry in May, that follows the dynamic journey of two royal queens of the Tudor/Steward dynasties.
For younger audiences there’s a chance to sketch with the best at Nick Sharratt’s Picture Book Drawalong. Awarding-winning Nick has written and illustrated many books for children including Shark in the Park, You Choose and Pants.
Event cinema screenings at Number 8 include the brilliantly-funny National Theatre production of Dr. Strangelove, starring BAFTA award-winner Steve Coogan, world class Royal Ballet & Opera productions, plus fantastic musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar Live, A Night with Janis Joplin, Six The Musical Live!, and Bonnie & Clyde The Musical.
Spring film highlights include the Bob Dylan biopic A Compete Unknown, award winners Emilia Pérez and Flow, and the Billy Wilder classic The Apartment, starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine.
Plus, there are a variety of dance, painting, and glass workshops, along with Sip & Sketch afternoons, language Cafés, and readers’ groups in The Foyer to keep people entertained.
