A SPRING series of lunchtime recitals are kicking off a busy year for music at Worcester Cathedral.
The recitals will run every Thursday at 12.15pm until the end of March and will include organists Francois Cloete, Roger Judd, Jonathan Hope and Benjamin Nicholas, violinist Anna Holmes, guitarist Ahmed Dickinson, ensembles from King’s School and vocal students from Royal Grammar School, Worcester.
Admission is free, with donations welcomed at a retiring collection.
Performers for the summer and autumn series will be announced soon.
There are also a range of candlelit concerts coming up at the cathedral, including the music of Coldplay, The Drifters, The Beatles, Radiohead, U2 and Bowie, as well as live performances by Tunde of Lighthouse Family and Boney M.
Tickets are also available for Worcester Festival Choral Society’s performance of Johann Sebastian Bach’s inspirational 1727 oratorio St Matthew Passion on Saturday March 22.
