THE EVESHAM Christmas weekend events have been cancelled due to the arrival of Storm Bert.

High winds and heavy rain is forecast for Saturday (November 23) so the decision has been taken to cancel the festive activities on public safety grounds.

Pershore Christmas lights switch-on will take place next Friday.

Pershore

Pershore’s Christmas lights switch-on takes place in St Andrew’s Gardens at 6pm next Friday, November 29.

The Pershore Georgian Christmas Fayre runs from 4pm to 8pm next Friday and between 10am and 4pm next Saturday, November 29 and 30.

There will also be a procession from Pershore Abbey, live entertainment and carols, Christmas market and late night shopping.

Other attractions include live music, fairground rides, face painting, seasonal entertainment, a Santa’s grotto and a plethora of festive food, drink and market stalls selling delightful unique goods.

The event is a real local affair with all entertainers, stallholders, and food and drinks vendors are based within 10 miles of Pershore.
