A WOMAN in her 30s was assaulted in Evesham while walking through the Davies Road area on the evening of Wednesday, October 16.
She had been walking along Davies Road near the adventure playground and crossed near St James’ Drive around 8pm before cutting into an alley by Evesham Motor Services on St Richard’s Road.
It was then she noticed someone was behind her.
A man then assaulted her causing a minor injury and also attempted to grab her mobile phone.
He is described as being around 5ft 9ins and white, though his face was partly covered and was wearing dark clothes. His jacket felt silky to touch and he had dark gloves on.
Fortunately he did not manage to take anything from her.
The victim also recalls seeing someone nearby at the time, possibly with a torchlight and a large dog that could have a golden retriever, on the other side of a brook from her, who it is hoped may have seen something.
Evesham officers are due to be on patrol in the Davis Road area tonight as part of this investigation.
Safer Neighbourhood Inspector for Wychavon, Dave Wise said: “A week on from this incident and, having pursued many other lines of enquiry, we would like to appeal to the public to see if they can assist us.
“We would like to reassure people that we believe this to be an isolated incident which poses no wider risk to the public.”
