STUDENTS from Vale of Evesham School got crafty recently in a project to help bring some seasonal cheer to the town centre this Christmas.
They got out the glitter, shiny paper and scissors in a session to design some decorative characters inspired by Tchaikovsky’s classical ballet The Nutcracker.
The workshop on October 10 provided the young people with an opportunity to explore their creative side and contribute to a community-wide initiative that will inspire the designs for the Evesham Christmas Eco-Nutcrackers Town Trail.

Supported by Evesham Place Board, the walk about town will showcase the rich cultural and historical influences of Evesham, in the hope of creating a vibrant and engaging experience for all.
Head teacher Brian Thomas, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “We are thrilled to see our students’ creativity come to life in such a meaningful way.
“This collaboration not only highlights their artistic talents but also fosters a sense of community pride and togetherness,” he said.

As well as bringing the community together, the trail also seeks to highlight the importance of supporting local businesses.
Phil Maclean, from Evesham Place Board, which helped to facilitate the workshop, added: “This initiative is a wonderful example of how art can bring people together.
The students’ designs will add a unique and festive touch to our town, and we are excited to see the community come together to celebrate the holiday season, especially supporting our local retail businesses during such an important period.”
