THE HERITAGE and historical significance of St John Ambulance will be in focus for an upcoming talk in Pershore next month.
Members of the Pershore Heritage and History Society will be treated to a talk at 7pm in the conference room of Pershore Library, Church Street discussing the ambulance service’s rich 900 year old origin story.
Tracing the roots of the Order of St John from 1096 – when a force of 60,000 from all over Europe joined the First Crusade – will be society chair, Peter Brookbank.
Society members will also hear about the more modern Victorian origins of an order which now has a presence for its charitable work in over 40 countries throughout the world.
Non-members are also welcome for the talk. Admission for non-members is £3.00.
