A PROLIFIC shoplifter who was caught by the new Evesham Police Town Centre Team last Thursday has received an eight-week prison sentence.
Wojciech Wieczorek, 43, was jailed at Kidderminster Magistrates Court because of both the thefts and his offending history.
Police received a call from the store regarding a theft on Thursday and suspected thefts days before.
On the officers’ arrival, the man was arrested. Suspected stolen goods were also recovered and taken back to the store.
The officers said: “This is a great result for safeguarding the stores for a short time.
“The team are now preparing the paperwork to apply for a criminal behaviour order to safeguard them even further in the future.”
