A MOTHER and daughter from Evesham have been commended for their decade of service to their employer – a Worcestershire based domicilliary and live-in care group.
Bluebird Care Worcester and Wychavon bestowed service awards to mum, Mel Fenton and daughter, Michaela Philips on Monday (September 2) for their 10-year commitment.
The awards were presented by Charles Moyle JP, the High Sheriff of Worcestershire and company director, David Benjamin.
The event also served as a farewell for Mel, who was described as an ‘invaluable part of the team’ for the past decade.
To mark the occasion, a short speech was given by the High Sheriff, followed by a small gathering with cakes, coffee, and tea. The office staff, along with some of the carers, attended as well.
High sheriff of Worcestershire, Charles Moyle JP said: “Mel and Michaela have exemplified dedication and passion in their roles, making an extraordinary impact on the community.
“Mel’s attention to detail and leadership have raised the bar for excellence, while Michaela’s commitment has been the backbone of the organisation, ensuring every need is met with care and precision.
“Their contributions have strengthened Bluebird Care but more importantly they made a lasting difference in the lives of those they serve.”
Mel joined Bluebird as a care worker in April 2014 and soon became the lead supervisor. Michaela joined in June 2014 as a part time care expert. She also held the role of support co-ordinator and is now lead co-ordinator.
The pair helped Bluebird provide live-in, at home, and respite care in various regions of Worcestershire including Worcester, Droitwich, Pershore Evesham, Broadway, and Bredon.
