A MAN wanted for failing to attend court has been located after being spotted fishing illegally in Evesham.
On Wednesday (August 28) officers attended an incident in Workman Gardens and arrived to find a group of men fishing illegally by the bank.
After the men were searched, a small quantity of drugs were located on the wanted man. After the man was arrested for drug possession, it was established there was also an outstanding warrant for his arrest after he failed to attend court in February 2024.
The man’s fishing equipment was also seized.
West Mercia Police’s Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team have said, despite this being an isolated incident, they will continue to monitor fishing in and round Abbey Park and Workman Gardens.
Concerns have recently been expressed by member of the public which has prompted the increase in police presence and monitoring.
