Police appeal as Evesham man dies in Alcester crash

A MAN from Evesham has died and two people were seriously injured in a horror crash near Alcester.

The 60-year-old died at the scene of the two-car crash on the B439 Evesham Road at Cranhill near Bidford-on-Avon close by the junction with Wixford Road shortly after 6am on Sunday.

He was driving a blue Ford Fiesta in the direction of Stratford when it was involved in a collision with white Audi A4 driving towards Evesham along the B439 Evesham Road.

The 28-year-old driver of the Audi A4 and his 18-year-old woman passenger were both seriously injured and were taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment where they remain with serious injuries.

The investigation into the collision is in the early stages and officers are appealing for any witnesses who saw either vehicle in the time leading up to the collision, or anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV.
