Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 31st Jul, 2022   0

HINDSIGHT can be a wonderful thing, but sadly it often occurs after the occasion has taken place.

How many times in life have we said or done something and then we wished that we hadn’t? Unfortunately, we cannot change it.

A few months before the Pandemic I erected a retractable awning over the Patio Doors.

After spending some time doing the job, in hindsight I realised that I should have bought one that was two feet wider because the Sun at Sunset, still shines through. This, of course, can be extremely annoying.

Throughout the day the awning does its job but during the last hour or so as the Sun goes down it can be very frustrating to say the least.

Because of that simple error we now must live with the consequences at the end of each sunny day.

In the Gospels we read that Jesus Christ never needed hindsight because He was always aware of what was going to happen next and therefore, he was prepared for each eventuality.

Although, today, we cannot see Him physically as people did then, we can experience His Prescence with us through daily prayer and Bible reading.

In every situation that we face in life, we know that Jesus is available to listen to and answer our prayers, although it might not always be in the manner that we would want.
