Evesham's firework display moved to late October despite Bonfire Night falling on a Saturday

EVESHAM Town Council has revealed its annual firework display will be brought forward a week despite Bonfire Night itself actually taking place on November 5 this year.

Town Hall chiefs have revealed the new date will be October 29 for a ‘ghostly and ghoulish experience’ and said the move was owing to November 5 falling on a Saturday.

As a result the council has decided to move its regular firework display away from its regular date so as to avoid a clash with all the other expected events which will be happening on the night.

Instead the annual entertainment extravaganza will take place seven days earlier – also on a Saturday.

Everything else remains the same: the venue will still be Corporation Meadow and there will be the same mix of traders and funfair stands for Evesham residents to enjoy in the run up to the display.

Organisers have also confirmed ticket prices will be the same as last year, making it the one place where residents won’t need to worry about an increase in the cost of living.

Tickets will go on sale both online and at the Almonry closer to the date.

Traders who would like a stand at the event are asked to contact the council.
