Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 16th May, 2022   0

IN THE late 1960s I remember hearing a talk in which the speaker mentioned that there would come a time in the not too distant future when there would be a ‘cashless society’.

At that time I did not even have a bank card or credit card and therefore laughed at the idea of living without cash in my pocket or even not writing a cheque for a payment.

This week I read a newspaper article about the ‘cryptocurrency’ and the fear that this new industry will devastate the environment because of the gigantic computer systems and the energy which it uses.

As I approach my eightieth birthday, I look back over my life and see so much that has happened in the world which has not always been for our good or benefit.

In the Gospels we read of the teaching of Jesus Christ, when He said so much about what would happen in the future that seemed quite frightening and yet

He also gave us great hope for that future.

He assured us that what ever happens to us, as we put our trust and faith in Him and God, His Father, then we can experience a sense of peace and assurance through the Salvation which we can know through Him.

Whatever situations we are facing at this time, let us realise that Jesus knows and cares for each one of us, right where we are.
