THE A CAPELLA Fellas of Vale Harmony enjoyed a pair of performances in the run-up to Christmas.

The Pershore-based chorus were honoured to appear at the Carol and Remembrance service held at the Vale Crematorium at Fladbury.

In their four-part, close harmony style, they opened the service with a rendition of White Christmas and ended it with Hallelujah. In between they led the 50-strong audience in three carols, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Silent Night and Ding Dong Merrily on High.

Catherine Linfield, manager of the Vale Crematorium, said: “The chorus gave a wonderful performance. We had many compliments and it was all very uplifting.”

The chorus also made a video recording of themselves singing two Christmas songs during one of their Wednesday night rehearsals to send to Leukaemia Care.

The Worcester-based charity, which supports those affected by blood cancer, is compiling a virtual Christmas Carol and Remembrance service which will be streamed on their website on Sunday (December 19).

Chris Franey, chairman of The A Cappella Fellas, said: “We were delighted to support Leukaemia Care. We’ve helped them on various occasions before the pandemic and it’s great that we could assist them this Christmas …and we were honoured to perform live at the Vale carol service.”
