IT HAPPENS every year around this time but for many of us the clocks going back still comes as a surprise.
Tonight (Saturday) we will move the clocks back an hour to signal the end of British Summer Time and the arrival of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
At 2am, the clocks will go back to 1am meaning an extra hour to celebrate Halloween tomorrow (Sunday)
While the evenings will get darker earlier, we will have lighter mornings. The days will get shorter and shorter until the shortest day of daylight – the Winter Solstice – on December 21.
Don’t worry if you aren’t a fan of the darker evenings, BST will return on Saturday, March 27, 2022 at 1am
While it will mean losing an hour in bed, it will being shorter nights and more light during the day.
