Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 26th Jul, 2021   0

AT THE beginning of the week the Met Office issued warnings of extreme heat and that one needed to be careful, especially the elderly and the vulnerable.

In March 2018 my wife and I were in Norway when at times the temperature was minus 25 degrees and sometimes we felt very cold despite wearing correct cold weather gear.

I am not one for soaking up the sun and I have often said that I think I prefer the extreme cold to the overpowering heat of the last few days.

Of course we will all have our own preferences, and many will certainly want the sunshine and not the snow.

Throughout our lives we all have our preferences for one thing or another, so we have to live with our choices.

Invariably when people met Jesus Christ he challenged them, and they had to make a choice one way or the other.

In the Bible we read of a Rich Young Man who met Jesus but went away sad because the Lord told him to sell all he had and give to the poor, but he was not willing to do so.

It had been a very hard choice for this seemingly nice young man as he had lived a blameless life by keeping all the laws, but to give up his wealth was a step too far.

Sometimes we have to make bold decisions in our own lives but as we seek God’s guidance in prayer, we trust that we will make the right choice.
