Arrests made after car failed to stop

ARRESTS were made after a estate car attempted to ram a police car after failing to stop in Evesham yesterday (Monday).

Officers from West Mercia Police’s Local Policing Priority Team together with the force’s dog unit, operation patrol unit and the National Police Air Service were on hand to tackle the incident in the heart of the town.

The car pictured failed to stop and tried to ram a police car, when those responsible realised they couldn’t outrun officers they abandoned the car in Victoria Avenue.

The force confirmed two people were arrested with the prospect of more arrests in the coming days. The vehicle was seized and a stolen generator recovered.

“It is necessary to get a number of appropriately trained resources into place to safely resolve such incidents. The helicopter kindly attended from Oxfordshire.”
