EVESHAM were back on the field for the first time in three weeks but their Midlands Two West (South) fortunes did not take a turn for the better as they were beaten 44-12 by promotion-chasing visitors Malvern on Saturday.
The Avonsiders remain precariously positioned just above the drop zone in tenth position following defeat to third-placed Malvern.
The visitors dominated the first half, scoring two converted tries and two penalties to lead 20-0 at the break.
Four more tries followed for Malvern in the second half but Evesham did produce some good passages of play and Wilf Watson and Jack Jeffery both scored well-taken tries, with Mike Diston converting one.
Evesham – now just two points above the relegation zone with six matches remaining – entertain second-placed Nuneaton Old Edwardians on Saturday (2.15pm).
