WINNING trio Irene Hawkes, Debbie Donoghue and Angela Sollis were all smiles after triumphing in Broadway Golf Club ladies’ 3-Ball Stableford Waltz.
The format called for one score on the first hole, two on the second and three on the third, repeated over 16 holes.
Coming in with a superb 74 points were Hawkes, Donoghue and Sollis, ahead of ladies’ vice-captain Sue Barker, Jayne Rose and Jenny Buchan in second place with an excellent 71 points.
Lyn Chambers, Pat Green and Sheila Lawson claimed third with 70 and Valerie Steven, Chris Parkinson and Jayne Telfer were fourth with 69.
THE FIFTH round of Broadway’s men’s Winter League foursomes was won by Alan Terry and John Richards with 45 points, ahead of second-placed William Jones and Andy Simms on countback.
Each team member drove on alternate holes and play then continued with just one ball to the green in what was an excellent competition.
Sharing third and fourth places with a superb 44 points were Richard Rouse and Dave Morris and Lee Jones and Stephen Oliver.
