THE SOUNDS of the Kel Elliot Band will be on offer at the latest of Wychavon District Council’s musical performances for people living with dementia.

Members of the group will take to the stage at Pershore Number 8 on Wednesday (July 17) from 1.30pm to 2.45pm.

Kelvin and Kel are in a quirky band and will be performing some of their original music. Kelly sings and plays double bass and Kelvin plays acoustic guitar, ukulele and does backing vocals.

The workshops have been running since 2014 with a variety of music genres represented including Latin American, contemporary, classical and folk. Jenny Davis, arts development officer at Wychavon, said: “We have had a great response from people who have attended our workshops over the years and I’m so excited for the upcoming year to begin.

“We have an entertaining programme planned with lots of talented musicians and singers. Workshops like this have a positive impact on people by reducing isolation, getting them involved and helping them to make new friends,” she added.

Admission is £2. Call the Number 8 Box Office on 01386 555488 or visit www.number8.org to book.
