Churches Together to mark Easter weekend

Evesham Editorial 17th Apr, 2019   0

CHURCHES Together in Evesham and district, which is made up of 10 churches in Evesham, Hampton and Harvington will be out on the streets of Evesham over the Easter weekend to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Tomorrow (Thursday) between 11am and 12.30pm members will be in Bridge Street offering a free shoe cleaning service as a modern day commemoration of Jesus washing his disciples feet.

On Good Friday between 11am and midday there will be a Walk of Witness starting at the bottom of Bridge Street and finishing in Abbey Gardens, with various stops along the way where bible readings and hymns will be sung.

In previous years several hundred folk have joined members on this simple walk to mark the crucifixion.

Finally on Sunday at 9.30am in the market square there will be a short service celebrating the resurrection.
