Cult classics to screen at Regal

FILM lovers can celebrate some big blockbuster birthdays at The Regal in Evesham this spring in a trio of special anniversary screenings.

The restored art-deco cinema, which itself has served Evesham’s film fanatics since the early 1930s, will revisit three cult classics: Alien, The Great Escape and Monty Python’s Life of Brian

Ridley Scott’s Alien will be screened on Friday, March 22 as the 1979 classic has been has been modernised and restored to 4k resolution in preparation for its 40th anniversary.

Television historian Dan Snow will host a commemorative evening, broadcast live to cinemas across the UK on Sunday, March 24 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Great Escape which will also be screened during the evening.




Another 1979 favourite will be screened on Thursday, April 18 as Monty Python’s hilarious Life of Brian celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Highly controversial upon its original release and banned in several countries, the film is now frequently ranked as the greatest comedy feature around the world.
