A POPULAR Evesham charity is among the first to benefit from a community scheme launched by the town’s new Waitrose store.
Members of Evesham and District Mental Health Support Services were on hand to receive a cheque for £459 at the Merstow Green supermarket on Monday (February 4).
The cash is the first giveaway from Waitrose’s Community Matters green token scheme which will see £1,000 shared between three local good causes each month.
Shoppers are handed a token at the checkout which they can place in the box of the good cause they wish to support.
The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive.
