EVESHAM’S losing streak extended to four Midlands Two West (South) matches with a 20-14 defeat at home to third-placed Nuneaton Old Edwardians on Saturday.
However, this was a much-improved performance by the Vale side who remain in ninth place heading into Saturday’s visit to second bottom Old Coventrians, who sit eight points behind Evesham.
The visitors were made to work hard for their win as Evesham fought valiantly to the final whistle.
Evesham trailed 8-7 at half-time but held the lead in the second half thanks to tries by Will Bugg and Zak Shotton, both converted by Tom Williams.
Despite this though, the Avonsiders had to settle for a losing bonus point.
