Evesham move back into top six

Evesham Editorial 19th Apr, 2018   0

EVESHAM leapfrogged visitors Leamington into sixth place in Midlands Two West (South) with a 13-12 victory over the Warwickshire side on Saturday.

The success sets the Avonsiders up nicely for Saturday’s visit to second-placed Malvern, who will be confirmed as runners-up regardless of their own efforts this weekend assuming leaders Droitwich win at rock-bottom Old Yardleians, who have lost all 21 league games.

Evesham are then scheduled to visit Droitwich, in what is the league’s only outstanding fixture, on April 28 but that match may not be played if nothing is riding on the result.

Evesham, promoted to this level 12 months ago, have plenty to be proud of this campaign and have a lot of young talent coming through, not least the under 17s who comfortably won their league.
