Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 1st Apr, 2018   0

LET US imagine we are part of a group of people who have toured the country for the past three years seeing extraordinary things happening to ordinary people.

Our leader had been a humble carpenter in a small backwater town but is now famous wherever he goes.

We felt we are going to be part of his governing body in our nation although we are just from varying backgrounds and educational abilities.

It’s the time of the great national festival for us as we remember the deliverances of our country in the past.

As we sit and eat together our leader drops a bombshell by telling us he will be killed within the next few days, but we do not really believe that this will happen.

How could it, he is our famous leader. Sadly it happens and he is crucified on a cross and buried in a tomb. We are devastated and do not know what to do.

After three days of sorrow and mourning we find he has risen from the dead and is alive and visiting us to encourage and strengthen us.

On Good Friday we remember the awful death of Jesus Christ on that cross on the outskirts of Jerusalem.

But today, Easter Day, we rejoice in the remembrance and celebration that Jesus came out from the dark tomb and now lives and reigns forever.

Let us not live in the darkness of Good Friday but in the brightness of Easter Sunday.
