STAFF at an Evesham opticians baked their way to success by raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Royal National Institute of Blind People.

Specsavers in Evesham recently held a cake sale raising nearly £190 in total for the two charities. The team were joined by customers and passers-by who all indulged in delicious baked goods in return for a charitable donation.

Staff at the Bridge Street shop spent the day selling all sorts of cakes inside and outside the store, which was decorated with charity balloons, bunting and banners to raise awareness.

Store director Amy Liau said: “It was a fantastic day and it was great to see the team channeling their inner bakers to produce sweet treats for everyone to enjoy.

“Fundraising is extremely important to us here at Specsavers, and we enjoy having good fun while raising funds for a great cause.

“We want to thank everyone who popped into the store and made a donation. We appreciate all the support and are delighted to be able to donate £40 to RNIB and more than £140 to Macmillan Cancer Support.”
