A DOGS Trust Evesham education officer is celebrating after reaching the milestone of teaching 20,000 schoolchildren how to be safe around dogs.
Charlotte Paddock has been delivering dog safety lessons and workshops in schools across the county and beyond for more than two years.
Youngsters at Inkberrow First School were the latest to benefit from Charlotte’s workshops, which educate children on responsible dog ownership.
She said: “With so many children coming into contact with dogs, it’s really important that they understand how to behave around them.
“If children know how to act around dogs and treat them with respect, it means they can be confident when they’re out and about.
“By helping young people learn about the responsibility and commitment involved in dog ownership, we believe we can reduce the number of dogs that are mistreated and/or abandoned.”
