WW2 film screening to boost Pershore's stain glass window fund

Evesham Editorial 3rd Oct, 2017   0

WARTIME memories of 11 county men and women who served in our armed forces abroad and on the home front during the Second World War will be shown at Pershore Library.

The memories will be relived in a special showing of a DVD film ‘We Did Our Bit’ in aid of the Pershore Cemetery stained glass windows appeal next Friday, October 6 at 7 pm.

The film began life as an 11 minute DVD to be shown on the 11th day of the 11th month in 2013 . With so much fascinating unused material it was later expanded to allow county veterans to explain more about those dramatic years.

Film director Mike Jackson will introduce the film which was partly funded by the Armed Forces

Community Covenant and it’s hoped one of the veterans may attend to share his experiences.

Tickets for the evening at £5 and available from Pershore Library in Church Street, the Town Hall or from Julian Palfrey on 01386 561198.
