TWO inmates at HMP Long Lartin near Evesham have today been sentenced after pleading guilty to the ‘vicious’ murder of another prisoner.

It follows the ‘premeditated’ murder of Brett Rogers who was found dead in his cell on Thursday, June 6 2017.

A post mortem found he died from compression to the neck.

Today Billy White, 24, and Gary Lindley, 41, appeared at Worcester Crown Court where they were sentenced for the murder of Brett Rogers.

White was given a whole life term and Lindley was sentenced to life to serve a minimum of 17 years and six months.

Detective Inspector Paul Hardman, from West Mercia Police, said: “This was a vicious and premeditated attack by two very dangerous men.

“The judge has recognised the danger they pose to the wider public and we welcome the length of their sentence.”
