BLACK smoke billowed from the George Billington Lock in Offenham yesterday afternoon after a boat exploded and caught fire.
Emergency services, including fire crews, police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at about 2.42pm.
The boat was well alight when crews arrived and firefighters used two hose reels, one extinguisher and one jet to put out the blaze.
Fortunately there were no injuries reported.
