Police issue warning after attempted distraction burglary

A MAN attempted to burgle a house in a Vale village by distracting the homeowner.

It happened sometime between 12.45pm and 1pm last Friday at a property on Broadway Road in Childswickham.

Between those times a man entered the property, but disturbed by the homeowner he claimed that some outbuildings on site had been tampered with and asked the homeowner if they had seen anything suspicious.

The man then left the property.




He is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, of chunky build, and was wearing a greyish chequered traditional farmer style cap with generalised brown clothing.

He was clean shaven with a very noticeable round face.


West Mercia Police have warned residents to be aware of the attempted distraction burglary.

Anyone with information should call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 0324S of Friday, September 1.
