Rampant Rangers make a flying start

THE BIRDSEYE Sports Evesham Sunday League season began in fine style for Mickleton Rangers as they triumphed 4-1 at Evesham WMC in Division One.

Goals from Dan Moore (2), Sexton and Neale earned a convincing win for Rangers, with Iorns on the mark for the Workies.

A second half Richard Craig effort earned Broadway United three points in a 1-0 success at Inkberrow, whilst the two promoted sides shared the spoils as Burrows gave visitors Offenham Rovers the lead before Smith levelled for New Inn Pershore in a 1-1 draw.

Hat-tricks from Tarling and Bloom gave Tewkesbury Town a thrilling 6-4 home win over Stour Excelsior, for whom Rowberry, More, O’Clare and Pearson scored.




TDMS Harvington started their Division Two campaign with a 9-1 win at Fortis as Karl Wallace (2), Woodfield (2), Quirke, Kinnersley, Gardner, Philpott and James Wallace scored and Napper netted a consolation for the hosts.

Alderton hit nine without reply at Bredon through Smith (4), Lee Bowles (2), Greaves (2) and Dan Bowles.


Goals from Attwood, Reeves and Banning helped Badsey Recreation defeat visitors Charlton Fladbury 3-0 and Bretforton Old Boys Reserves came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Cropthorne as the home side were left to reflect on missed chances in a game they dominated for long periods.

Broadway United Reserves opened with a convincing 8-2 win at Sun Inn through Steele (3), Goodall (2), Sutton, Milward and Tomkotowicz. Jack Watts netted twice for Sun Inn.

In Division Three, Dragons defeated visitors Ambi Allsports 2-1 through goals from Wilsden and Pilling, with Richardson netted for Ambi.

Newcomers Strawberry Field United earned a creditable 3-3 draw at Stratford HGC and Alcester Town won 3-2 at Bengeworth.

Pebworth enjoyed a 4-2 success at Stour Excelsior Reserves and TDMS Evesham drew 3-3 with visitors Ashton 88 as McGarr, Hall and Clements scored for TDMS and Begley, Bostock and Stevens struck for Ashton.
