Police helicopter searches for driver of badly damaged abandoned car

A POLICE helicopter was deployed in the search for the driver of a badly damaged abandoned car near Harvington.

The blue Peugeot 307 was discovered by police at about 3.30am this morning on Evesham Road.

However, the driver had already left the scene before officers arrived.

Officers then carried out a search of the area for the driver using police dogs and a police helicopter was also deployed.




A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “Police were called to reports of a single car collision on Evesham Road, near Harvington, shortly after 3.30am this morning.

“Officers attended and discovered an abandoned blue Peugeot 307 at the side of the carriageway.


“Searches of the area were conducted, which included police dogs and the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter which proved inconclusive.”

Anyone with information or anybody who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 70s of Thursday, July 13.
