PERSHORE High School quartet Jess Thomas, Hannah Cartwright, Holly Scrafton and Lauren Carpenter secured a highly respectable mid-table finish at the Royal Windsor Horse Show showjumping event.
The girls had qualified for the prestigious competition by winning the qualifying round at Allens Hill in Pinvin.
On a tricky course, none of the teams in action before Pershore had made a clear score and numerous teams were eliminated.
Just as the Pershore girls were warming up, they were joined by the household cavalry and their horses were on edge with all the noise and excitement.
A Pershore High spokesman said: “They went into jump and, despite the girls giving it their best shot, they all had some unlucky poles down.
“They finished mid-table which was fantastic, but just to be there and ride at an event like that will be a firm memory for the students for a long time.
“They represented the school in style and as always were a pleasure to be with.”
