WORCESTERSHIRE Gymnastics Academy members scooped a fantastic 11 medals at the West Midlands Regional Championships, which were held at the Gymnastics and Martial Arts Centre in Birmingham.
The Stock Green-based club had prepared hard for this six-piece competition which saw gymnasts tackle floor, pommel mushroom, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar.
Several of the club’s gymnasts had only just moved into the competition squad and were competing at their first regional competition, but nevertheless they performed with great aplomb.
The 25-strong team secured four gold, four silver and three bronze medals and are now turning their attentions to 2017 as they step up their training.
Among the medals were Evesham’s Callum Braathen (silver), Harry Ward (gold), Ollie Ward (bronze) and Ashton Price (bronze), whilst fellow Vale gymnasts Alfie Taylor, William Culwick, Chris Page, Noah Granacki, Ben New and Luis Smith also impressed.
