Deadline for school applications looms

Evesham Editorial 27th Oct, 2016   0

TIME is running out for Vale parents to apply for secondary school places.

The application deadline is Monday (October 31) and parents are urged to make sure they apply before the deadline to make sure their youngster gets into their preferred choice of school.

Parents or carers who apply after the deadline will reduce their chances of getting their preferred choice and ate applicants will be considered after all other applicants have been given a place.

Coun Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Children and Families said: “Secondary school is a hugely formative time in a young person’s life, and it is important that pupils are given the opportunity to study in their favoured environment.

“Late applications will have an impact on an applicant’s chances, and so I would encourage parents to apply for secondary school places before the deadline of October 31.

“Our new admissions system will make this process easier than ever, and there are still plenty of options in place for those without access to a computer.”

Parents can apply by registering and then using an online application process available at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
